Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring is a flooring material like no other. Made to last and extremely beautiful, Ambience Hardwood Flooring offers you the best of a wide range of engineered wood flooring options.
What is engineered flooring?
Engineered flooring consists of multiple layers of plywood, topped off with a solid wood of your choice (oak or walnut for example). Underneath the solid wood are multiple layers of plywood that are fused together using a process of very high pressure bonding that seals the wood together. Once this happens, the wood is then sent into a drying chamber that exerts moisture throughout the wood, making sure that the wood contains just the perfect level of moisture. This extensive process makes engineered wood a high quality material for flooring. Underneath the top layer of wood are a series of grooves and notches that fit the separate pieces of wood together in the same sense of how a jigsaw works, this is known as click installation. However, because the engineered planks have been expertly manufactured and designed, they are made to 'click' for decades and provide stable, high quality flooring.
Advantages of engineered flooring
To this, there are many; due to the extensive production process of engineered flooring, the material makes a durable and sturdy flooring choice that can last decades. Thanks to the multiple layers of plywood beneath the hardwood surface, engineered wood holds a great reputation for a flooring choice that does not contract or expand due to differing heat or moisture levels. This means that engineered flooring is an excellent choice of flooring for places such as basements, kitchens and bathrooms. As engineered flooring can be laid anywhere, this means that it can be used to cover a variety of surfaces including cement, vinyl, tile and even carpet! As long as the surface below is secured and flat, engineered flooring is a versatile material that can cover just about anything. You may be also interested to know that thanks to our high quality materials, once engineered flooring is laid, to the naked eye, there is no difference between engineered flooring and solid wood flooring.
Also, if you're looking into installing underfloor heating within your home, engineered wooden flooring works great with any under floor heating system. Although under floor materials are required for this, we stock a wide range of underlay's that are perfect for people wanting to build underfloor heating beneath their floors.
One of the greatest benefits of choosing engineered flooring for your home or business is the benefit it holds to the environment. As engineered floors use only a minimal amount of hardwood, this dramatically reduces the amount of wood being used in the manufacturing process and ergo, the amount of trees having to be felled for the purposes of flooring. Although all the woods in our range are chosen from specially sourced environments, and produced from only certified and trusted manufacturers, choosing engineered wood for your floor offers that extra helping hand to the environment.
With a wide range of engineered floors available to you, there shouldn't be a floor within our selection that you won't find appealing. With well over forty different types of wood available within the engineered flooring range, make sure that you that you take a look over every one of them to make sure that you discover the perfect floor for your home or business.
