Jatoba Wood Flooring
Jatoba Wood Flooring Information
Jatoba wood flooring has been used in homes for decades as well as being found in contemporary furniture and decoration. Jatobá is a very durable and traffic resistant hard wood with a Janka hardiness of 1290, (119% harder than the benchmark level of hardiness). Like cherry wood, Jatobá wood has a reputation of maturing beautifully over time. Although changes are slight, the colour deepens, the elegant grain of the wood develops darkened stripes, and if left in direct sunlight, they will start to hue a darkened red, creating a luxurious blend of sophistication for your floor. Jatobá wood derives from the amazing Jatobá tree of South America. Although the tree is commonly referred to as the South American Cherry Tree; it is not related to its North American counterpart and produces a very different quality of wood.
