Engineered Oak Flooring Information
Oak flooring is one of the most traditional and luxurious flooring choices that you could buy for your home. For hundreds of years, the grandiose halls and houses of the United Kingdom have been treated to the beauty and splendour of oak flooring. Thankfully, since wooden flooring has made a comeback over the past few decades, natural flooring of any type has made a fantastic comeback. Often used to symbolise strength and beauty, the oak tree really is one of the most popular trees in the world and it is only apt that its produce is so loved around the world.
Besides its undeniable beauty, oak is also popular because of its hardiness and firm resistance to wear and traffic. With a Janka rating of 1290, oak is considered the benchmark rating of hardiness. This makes the material excellent for floors in homes and businesses that expect high and concentrated levels of traffic throughout its lifetime.
What most people aren't aware of, is that if you or someone in your family suffers from allergies, oak flooring actually makes a wonderful solution to tackling the problem of dust, pollen and other allergenic's. What is Engineered Oak Flooring
Unlike solid wood flooring, which compromises of a single plank of wood, engineered flooring consists of multiple layers of plywood that are fused together under extremely high pressure and are topped off with the flooring material of your choice (for example Rustic Oak). As the manufacturing process is highly extensive, this means that quite often, engineered flooring is as reliable as solid wood flooring. Much of this is thanks to the specially designed 'click' system that is carved within the sides of all the engineered boards, ensuring you reliable and stable flooring that will last decades.

Of course, there are also many advantages of engineered oak flooring. Not only is engineered flooring highly reliable, but thanks to the many layers of plywood which sit beneath your chosen material, the floor is able to contract and expand accordingly to differing moisture and temperature levels. This makes engineered oak flooring a brilliant choice for basements and bathrooms, where you would expect to find high levels of humidity.
